What PPF actually stops
Paint protection film — PPF, or "clear bra" — is a thick urethane layer bonded over your paint. It absorbs the impacts that leave permanent marks: gravel off the shoulder on Hwy 98, debris on the Navarre and Garcon Point bridges, shell and sand blasting up on the way out to Navarre Beach, and the bug acid that etches a front bumper over a Florida summer. Tint cools the cabin. Ceramic coating makes the paint easier to wash. Neither one stops a rock — only film does.
Coverage options
Most customers start with the front end, because that's where impacts land. We quote four levels on-site once we've seen the vehicle:
- Partial front — bumper, partial hood and fenders, mirrors. The highest-impact zone at the lowest cost.
- Full front — full hood and fenders with no seam across the middle, plus bumper and mirrors.
- High-impact pack — adds rockers, A-pillars, door edges and door cups.
- Full body — every painted panel.
Pricing depends on the panels and the vehicle — a Corvette hood is not an F-250 hood. Every PPF quote is free and given on-site or from photos.
Self-healing, and invisible when it's done right
Modern film has a topcoat that re-flows with heat, so light swirls and wash marks disappear in the Florida sun on their own. Done properly, the film wraps the panel edges so there's no visible line and no dirt-catching lip. That edge work is the difference between a PPF job that looks factory and one that announces itself — it's the part that takes experience, and it's why we're certified rather than self-taught.
PPF, tint and ceramic coating are three different things
They get confused constantly, so plainly: PPF goes on painted panels and stops physical damage. Window tint goes on glass and cuts heat, glare and UV. Ceramic coating is a liquid that cures to a slick, hydrophobic layer — it fights water spots and makes washing easier, but it will not stop a chip. Plenty of our customers run all three. Warranty
PPF carries a manufacturer warranty against yellowing, cracking and delamination, and our install work is warranted alongside it. Ask for the exact terms for the film on your quote and we'll walk you through them before you commit — we'd rather you know the real number than the marketing one.
